Description: As the Animation Project Manager for Assassin's Creed 2, I held a multifaceted role at the helm of a talented team of 22 animators. With a blend of leadership, organization, and technical expertise, I orchestrated the animation process from concept to completion, ensuring that every movement within the game contributed to its immersive storytelling experience.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Guidance: Leading a team of 22 animators, I provided direction, motivation, and mentorship to foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Through clear communication and strategic delegation, I optimized team productivity and cohesion.
Assignment and Resource Management: Leveraging a deep understanding of each animator's strengths and skillsets, I assigned tasks and projects that aligned with their abilities and interests. By effectively managing resources, I ensured that workloads were balanced and deadlines were met without sacrificing quality.
Approval Process Oversight: Serving as the gatekeeper of animation quality, I managed the approval process for all animation submissions. From initial concept pitches to final polished animations, I meticulously reviewed each iteration to ensure alignment with the creative vision and technical standards of the game.
Motion Capture Coordination: As the liaison between the animation team and the motion capture studio, I orchestrated all aspects of the motion capture process. This included planning and scheduling sessions, directing performers, and overseeing the integration of motion capture data into the game's animation pipeline.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborating closely with other departments such as game design, art direction, and programming, I ensured seamless integration of animation assets into the broader game development process. By fostering open communication and collaboration, I facilitated a cohesive and immersive player experience.
